Popularly referred to as the "Queen of Gospel Music," Albertina Walker s personal history reads almost like the story of Gospel music itself. Through The Caravans, the gospel music group she founded, Walker has been nicknamed "Star Maker"for breaking out such legendary artists as James Cleveland, Bessie Griffin, Shirley Caesar, and Dorothy Norwood to name a few. Her career has earned her a Grammy Award along with 10 other nominations, 5 Gold Records, 3 Dove Awards and an induction into the 2001 Gospel Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. She has tirelessly created a body of work that will echo her own heart of a lifetime devoted to the gospel and its uplifting music.
